Diversity Scholarship Program

Program Guidelines:
To be eligible for consideration the following criteria must be met:
• At the time of applying, applicants must be a graduating high school senior and/or have an anticipated college graduation date of 2017 or later.
• Must currently have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be enrolled/registered as a full-time student for the 2015 fall semester at an accredited 4-year or 2-year college or university.
o High school seniors must show proof of acceptance.
o Applicants selected for interview will be required to provide an unofficial transcript.
• If currently enrolled in a 2-year college program, students must be pursuing a transfer degree such as an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), and Associate of Arts and Sciences (AA&S). These transfer programs are designed for students who plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program.
• Acceptance of a scholarship requires that the applicant commit to a paid 10-12 week intern work session during the 2016 summer session. This work session is contingent upon satisfactory completion of normal pre-employment requirements.
• Scholarship awards are subject to: a) satisfactory completion of the summer work session, and b) receipt of the applicant’s final transcripts for the 2015–2016 academic year.
Submittal Guidelines:
As part of the Dominion Diversity Scholarship Program, applicants are required to submit the following documents to Dominion:
• By June 25, 2015, applicants must complete these two steps:
1. Submit current resume to Job #2015-6180 on
2. Submit a 1000-1250 word essay on the following topic:

At Dominion, diversity describes the variety of qualities that makes each person unique. It goes beyond race, age, and gender to include attributes that cannot be seen by others.

Given your personal background, write an essay that (include the 3 bullets):
• Describes what experiences or ideas you would bring to the diversity of Dominion,
• Includes what new perspectives or new talents you will contribute to Dominion, and
• Describes how the Dominion Diversity Scholarship Program will help you achieve your career goals.
To upload attachments:
• Go to Dominion Careers
• Log into your profile using the User ID and Password you used when you applied
• From the Welcome page, click on “Update your Profile”
• Scroll down to the document section
• Click on My Computer, Google Drive, or Drop-box to upload your essay
